PUB NOW CLOSED!!!
Alex, Colin & Kay regret to inform everyone that the pub is now closed. Unfortunately we have become a victim of the current economic conditions and with dwindling custom over the last few years, we finally decided that we had to close the doors.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank all our loyal and regular customers, and for the many enjoyable years and memories that we have shared.

The Sportsmans Arms Pub
_
Alex,
Colin, Kay and all the staff welcome one and all to The Sportsman’s Arms pub. Our
aim is to cater for all your needs while you are with us. We have been trading for
the past 7 years and our motto is “A business run by a family for families”.
We have a designated dining area and a large outside beer garden and play area equipped with swings, slide and climbing frame for children. Providing a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere, you can either dine in the comfort of the bar area which boasts a large log-fire or in the more intimate restaurant area which includes full table service for the same price.
We encourage bookings for the restaurant and for parties of 10 or more, we recommend you to pre order your food. Please contact us on 01245 380410, via the contact form or via email (just click the envelope icon below)
Nounsley
Nounsley is a hamlet in the parish of the larger Essex village of Hatfield Peverel to which it is connected by a hill and footpaths. In the very hard winter of 1961/62, snow on Nounsley Hill cut the village off to wheeled traffic for 3 days.
There is one public house, The Sportsman's Arms and a ford across the River Ter.
The hamlet has only 7 roads: Ulting Road, Sportsman Lane, Nounsley Road, Manor Road, Priory Farm Road, Priory Close and Peverel Avenue.
Hatfield Peverel Parish Council manage the small playing field and play area in the hamlet. There is a village notice board for events from all of the Parish. There is a telephone and post box in the village.
The Sportsmans Arms pub is the only pub in the village.
